Building a face - Method 1(Extuding from the mouth) | ||
My
journey in CG began with the indomitable POV
Ray. This lead me to the sweet Spatch and finally the all powerful
AM. Anto Matkovic's method of extruding from the mouth to form the head was my preferred method of modeling a head. An example of which is shown below. |
||
This
method produced a lot of continuous splines that are unbroken except
at the eyes and can be made into very smooth 5 point patches. I deviated
from his method in that I did not extrude all the way into the neck.
Instead I extruded to to the ear, copied and pasted the last spline
extruded. I then flattened this spline in the z-axis, added a few
points then lathed it. The front of the lathed structure was deleted;
the rear part was then joined to the face and the point adjusted -
a trick I picked up from Mike
Comet. The end result. |
